Bistro

Our menus in the Bistro and Restaurant are the same, but two different experiences. In the bistro maybe catch a glimpse of our chefs at the pass, in our semi open kitchen, preparing your food for service and enjoy the atmosphere of a busy working restaurant in modern surroundings.

Starters & Light bites

Ideal as a starter for one or order several to share

 

A crock of homemade soup (v) 4.75

Moules marineres:  bowl of fresh mussels cooked with white wine, garlic and cream 9.75

Whitby queen scallops: served in the shell with pesto, parmesan and matured Sleights ham 9.75

Deep fried salt and pepper Whitby squid with spring onions and lime & chilli mayonnaise 8.95

Green's potted beef with a pear compote, warm toasts 5.50

Wild mushroom risotto with truffle, parmesan and parmesan crisps8.25 (v)

Thai style seafood broth, cooked with lemongrass, lime leaves, red curry and coconut milk 8.95

1/2 pint of shell on Atlantic prawns with seafood sauce 7.50

Grilled kipper with scrambled egg and toast 7.50

Mixed fried seafood with dressed leaves, lemon and tartare sauce 8.25

Green's bouillabaisse:- mixed seafood soup with tomato, fennel and garlic. Served with aiolli and crouton 8.50

Crispy whitebait with mixed leaves, lemon, paprika and curried mayonnaise 7.25

Smoked salmon plate with capers, dressed leaves and lemon 7.95

Salads

Smoked salmon and shell on prawns tossed with mixed salad leaves and served with seafood sauce 12.50

Warm salad of sauteed queen scallops, black pudding, bacon and crisp croutons 14.25

Goats cheese, roasted peppers, olives, basil and cherry tomato salad 11.50

Mixed sauteed seafood salad tossed with crisp leaves, new potatoes and a lemon dressing 14.25

 

Main  Dishes

Moules frites: Large pan of moules marineres served with French fries and garlic mayonnaise 16.75

Green's Thai seafood ragout:- Tiger prawns, scallops, mussels and salmon cooked with coconut milk, lime leaves and red Thai curry, rice pilaf 17.95

Green's fish pie:- King prawn, smoked haddock, salmon, cod and queens in a creamy veloute topped with mash and mussels, lemon and kipper salad 14.50

Green's bouillabaisse:- mixed seafood soup with tomato, fennel and garlic. served with croutons and aiolli 17.50

Green's fish and chips:- Fresh Whitby cod deep fried in our own beer batter with hand cut chips, tartare sauce, lemon and mushy peas 12.75

Shellfish linguine:- Fresh seafood tossed with linguine, white wine, cream, basil and cherry tomatoes 16.75

Mixed shellfish mariniere:- Queens, mussels and tiger prawns cooked with garlic, white wine and cream 19.50



Grill

Steak Frites: Selected prime Yorkshire reared beef

Char grilled sirloin served with mushrooms, grilled tomato, French fries and a pickled red onion and blue cheese dressed salad 19.50
